DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative is excited to share that the Kenilworth-Parkside community is making worldwide news!

This Memorial Day weekend The Associated Press made available to its members a feature article that has since been published in more than 120 news outlets including: ABC News, PBS Newshour, The Wall Street Journal, UK Daily Mail, The Washington Post, and many more.

Two types of stories were published. The first highlights the Promise Neighborhoods’ concept and purpose. The second, a full feature, shares some of the community’s history, challenges, DCPNI programs and goals, and hopes for the future. More than 20 photos from the community and programs also were shared with The Associated Press members, with many of them choosing great shots of our students and programs. Importantly, the authentic voice of the community, DCPNI partners, and our parents, children, and youth are heard throughout the piece. Shedding an unprecedented light on the needs and dreams of Kenilworth-Parkside and our work together.

There is no better time than now to thank you-our partners, funders, and community members-for working with us to bring Five Promises to Two Generations in Kenilworth-Parkside. While there is more work to be done, we have much promise on which to build.
